Raúl Muñoz obtained his Master degree in Chemical Engineering at Universidad de Valladolid (UVa, Spain) in 2001 and completed his Doctoral Thesis at the Dept. of Biotechnology of Lund University (Sweden) in June 2005. Raúl Muñoz is Associate professor at the Dept. of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technology of Valladolid University and member of the Institute of Sustainable Processes. Over the past 10 years, 20 international and 5 national collaborations with leading groups in the fields of biological gas treatment, environmental microbiology and wastewater treatment were initiated and maintained. The applicant has published 178 papers in JCR scientific journals, 77 % of them within the Q1 of the JCR classification, and has co-authored 20 International Book Chapters (+ 10 National Book Chapters). His publications have been cited 5698 times, with an H index of 43. He has supervised 16 PhD Thesis, 22 Master Thesis, 22 Research Works and 24 Final Year Projects. Finally, he has been Principal Investigator in 35 R&D projects and contracts, with a total budget of 5.485.894 € over the past 10 years. Raul is currently P.I of four Horizon 2020 projects (INCOVER, URBIOFIN, CH4BioVal, DEEP PURPLE) and 1 National R&D Project. He was member of the scientific committee of 34 international conferences, project evaluator in 10 countries and member of the PhD evaluation committee of 29 Thesis (16 International).
